Hillary at the Iowa State Fair!

On a hot and humid Wednesday afternoon, Hillary spent a fun filled afternoon at the Iowa State Fair.  Hillary made a number of stops including a speech at The Des Moines Register’s soapbox where over 1,500 fairgoers came to hear her speak.  After the speech, many fairgoers agreed -- she is the candidate with the strength and experience to lead our country on her first day in office.

Hillary also stopped by the Iowa Democratic Party’s booth to thank volunteers for all of their hard work and joined former Governor Tom Vilsack and Christie Vilsack to grill some pork -- the other white meat -- at the Iowa Pork Producers tent.

Between the booths, Hillary shook countless hands and stopped for a Wonder Bar, a nutty ice cream concoction on a stick, and a bowl of caramel apples.  She also saw the butter sculpted cow and this year’s cholesterol enhancing creation, the butter sculpted Harry Potter.

As she walked around the fairgrounds, at one point a vender selling mops convinced Hillary to purchase one – for all the cleaning she’ll need to do when she gets into the White House!

Take a look at some of the photos:

I love the story about the mop! How funny! And how true. Hillary will certainly be cleaning things up in January 2009 once she takes office. I'm excited to see her in the debate on Sunday where we know she'll show the others (once again) how it's done. GIVE 'EM HILL!

Ha! She's going to need more than a mop to clean up the mess left by this administration. How about a mop, a sponge, a broom, a brush, a squigee and a whole team of people to help her out? No, but seriously, I just can't wait for this administration to come to its end. This nation needs a lot of healing.

Funny story about the mop. I agree with f4881 that she will need something a little bigger, like a bulldozer. I am looking forward to the day when this nightmare is over. Like the saying goes, "01/20/09 the end of an error." I just hope the majority of Americans are a lot wiser when it comes to this election. Go Hillary Go!!!!

I watched the Democratic Party's Iowa debate. Hilary looked great in her outfit which I thought was perfec! In the future, Hilary’s answer to Obama should be: Dick Cheney and Rumsfeld are the by product of an inexperienced President. To people who ask if they believe in the power of pryers, I say that the Bible shows that God answers the prayers of people who help themselves. God will not answer prayers without action from people.

By caritas, I believe that God answers prayers to those who truly have the faith that he will answer them. If you have any doubt then your prayers will not be heard. Plus God's answer is not always what we want to hear, but we later find out why certain things happen.

Senator Clinton was personable and popular during her Iowa State Fair appearance. The Senator is clearly maturing into an effective campaigner in her own right. She demonstrated skill in both speaking to groups in a way that welcomed Independents and Republicans while appealing to Iowa Democrats. In small groups she listened and questioned effectively. She shared key examples of leadership philosophy that demonstrate she is ready to be the chief executive from day one of her term, no on-the-job training required. She demonstrated her expertise across a range of topics. I particularly liked her openness to receiving input from a wide range of opinion rather than limiting her counselors to those who already agree. Senator Clinton demonstrated her electability and her potential to govern effectively.
