Hillary ramped up her campaign in West Virginia on Wednesday, holding a mid-morning event with hundreds of thrilled supporters in Shepherdstown on Wednesday. Chelsea gave a heart-warming introduction of her mother in this college town, while Hillary talked about the tough challenges we face and the real solutions she offers. Hillary will work hard every day for West Virginians and the nation, addressing the issues impacting our families, like health care, jobs and economic crises.

    • Quiet Riot!

The Democtratic Women are staging a quiet riot right before the eyes of the country....

The leaders of the party are choosing to ignore this phenomenon.

Listen carefully---a revolution is upon us!

      • A TOAST

to the  STRONGEST, MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD.  If anyone would ask me today who my HERO is, I would say HILLARY CLINTON!  I have never in my life seen such a FIGHTER!  I have always liked and respected her, but NOW I LOVE AND RESPECT HER SO MUCH MORE...who else would take hits like this from all sides and still remain STANDING?  Is it any wonder the MEDIA is so FRUSTRATED?

          • Who will win in West Virginia

I think that Hillary is keenly aware that opportunity for Americans comes in the form of stability and security supplied by affordable health care, ample jobs for all classes, and healthy families raising healthy children. I think West Virginians know this and will vote for her. Obama's view of opportunity is very idealistic and not aimed at opportunity that comes in concrete and stable forms, such as Hillary promotes. After all,as Martin Luther King said (and, I do not recall the actual words but do recall the sense of it)- you cannot pull yourself up by your bootstraps if you do not have boots in the first place.

        • A TOAST

I must say that I agree.  I have often said that if you want to get it done, leave it to a woman.  That is one of the many reasons why I support Hillary Clinton from strongly for President.  We need a woman in charge to clean up the mess made by men, Bill Clinton not withstanding.  Other than Hillary Clinton, there are no soldiers strong enough with the endurance of Hillary Clinton that can bring America back to greatness.  I am also frustrated by the media and the Boys' Club as we have all come to know it.  But I remain like Hillary Clinton undaunted by their efforts.  My nieces and grand-daughters now have Hillary Clinton as a mentor to admire and to respect and race has not a thing to do with it.  Hillary Clinton for President '08.

        • Second the Motion

I second that and raise my glass.  No man could stand it and we all know that!  I say we figure a way to get Hillary elected come hell or high water. If we can't get her in the front door, let's go through the back.  How about as an independent or a write-in?  It's IMPERATIVE FOR AMERICA to have HILLARY as PRESIDENT!!!  More important than any other time in my lifetime.

Sign me up for the revolution!  Independent Women love her, too! She hasn't let us down and WE MUSTN'T LET HER DOWN!!!

by AndreaInFlorida at 5/9/2008 7:53:21 PM

        • Please, please continue to campaign.

Don't give up. With Michigan and Florida, Hillary HAS the opportunity to win this and get a Democrat in the White House. Without her, we will face 4 more years of Republican rule. Our country is in dire need of Mrs. Clinton. Make us proud!!

        • They may make you stumble, but they won't make you fall

They may make you stumble, but they won't make you fall.  They may count you out, but they won't push you out.  You will be our next president.

Don't give up and don't give in.  Keep moving forward.  There will be obstacles along the way, but just keep your eye on the goal.  Anything worth having takes a lot of hard work.  I know you know this all to well.  Believe in yourself like we believe in you Hillary!

      • Let's organize

Great idea.  We should organize a quiet riot this week and ask every democratic woman to send at least one email or letter on Sunday to the DNC, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, or a state Democratic official.

We could call it the Hillary's Quiet TEA Riot.

        T = Trust
        E = Experience
A = Can do, roll-up your sleeve Attitude

My family and I just came back from early voting and we have not met a person in Putnam County where we live that is not voting for Hillary Clinton.

I believe that what is wrong with the news channels is that they are for any male candidate who can beat Hillary to the White House and we cannot let that happen.

Barack Obama does not have enough experience to be President and the Republicans are praying for him to get the Democratic Nomination.

I also think we should push for a "Write In" petition to go on the net and get to the super delegates. Anyone here who could write it in legal lanquage? Others here with the savy to get it on the net?

            • All of Hillary's supporters need ot write her in

We cannot let the media and the DNC take this away from us, if all of Hillary's supporters that voted for her in the primaries would write her in and encourage others to write her in, whe could make history as the first woman president and as being elected as a write in!!!

How about someone setting up something right here on this website with the addresses we need so all we have to do is sign our names and leave our addresses or emails, etc. and forward the request on to the DNC, the Super Delegates, CNN, NBC, ABC, FOX, MSNBC, and anybody else who will sit up and take notice that we want to be heard? Women have been overlooked and shunned long enough. We have had the vote for many years. Let's use it!

          • Quiet Riot!

anxiousinky, I will send the idea of a "Write In" petition to "Contact Us" -- at the bottom of the Home page. For those who are in for this -- do the same.

To push for a "Write In" petition, in no way means that we are giving up on winning the nomination. It means we are leveraging the power of our voice.

      • put a mom in the oval office

as a mom and news editor, I'm outraged at the media spinning the story and influencing the election. As a Michigander, I'm outraged my state isn't getting its voice. If our party continues to play dirty and supress the voter voices of Michigan and Florida, I'm crossing party lines and voting Republican for the first time in 20 years. At least McCain will be a one term prez and we can vote for Hillary in 2012 again.
Don't cave in -- or take Jon Stewart's suggestion, run with McCain.

      • Women of America Unite !!!!!!!!!!

Women of this great land must now more than ever come together to show the rest of the world that we can still be heard from and that we are not going the falter in the wake of any adversary.

Believe it or not, Even Rush Limbaugh said on his radio program today said that Hillary is the stronger candidate and is getting the short end of the media attention in this race.

We must do all we can to get Hillary the Democratic nomination so we can get the republicans out of the White House.

We are in the ninth hour of the race and must stand strong and believe as I do that Hillary is this countries only hope for survival form the Bush administrations failed policies.

The super delegates have to ask them self’s one simple question. Do I really think that Sen. Obama can over come the negative publicity the HE has crated when the Republicans get to him or can Hillary stand up to John McCain and the Republicans. It’s really that simple.

This blog might sound like its coming from a woman but it’s not I’m 46 year old man with a plethora of respect and admiration for Hillary and see the greatness that she can bring to this Great Land of OURS.

Just signed the petition and made donation also. I am voting for the right person who offers solutions to our country's crises and not for the party.  The DNC failed me by ignoring the will of the people.  Count Florida and Michigan now!  Hillary Clinton all the way to the White House.

        • Quiet Riot - Believe It!

          Just signed.

Thanks for doing this!  These folks need to understand we are 100% serious, we are 100% determined, and we are 100% for Hillary.  If they think this is an emotional response in the heat of the moment and that we will "come around" to support the party they are DEAD WRONG.

My vote is reserved 100% for Hillary.

        • Signed it yesterday!

It was encouraging this morning to look at all the others who have signed all across the country.  Their comments were also encouraging.  I hope this is a "quiet riot" to wake up the DNC and all of the Superdelegates.  Too many are looking out for their own careers because they believe Obama has the country's adoration.  He doesn't!  Hillary is the strongest candidate.  She should be the nominee.  Come on everyone, this is a watershed year!  Sign it to let everyone know that this country needs Hillary as the next President.

      • Agreement

Maddie,  I have to agree with you about the women in this country.

We Dems know who the best canidate is and that is Senator Hillary R Clinton.

It is not just women it is also men that are voting for her.

My partner and I just got $500 tickets to have lunch with Senator Clinton next Friday at noon.  That is just pennies by us compared how much the Senator has loaned herself in the race.

Senator Clinton, The United States of America, and the world need this race to move forward and pick the best choice for someone to clean up the mess Bush has left us.

SENATOR HILLARY R CLINTON IS THAT PERSON!!!

Please everyone Please dip in your pockets and help this campaign move forward.  She needs us NOW not a minute or second longer.

Women!  STAND UP AND BE COUNTED! Put Hillary in her place: The White House. Do everything you can to help Hillary now! Make phone calls to voters, donate, ask your family and friends to donate, travel to primary states to help on the ground, get others to help...Join the revolution...

      • Received this from my daughter and wondered if others had it also?:

Pulled from an email I received:

Could you pass some info on to the rest of the callers that are calling into WV?

I’ve been talking with some people already on the ground in WV and the Obama camp is calling voters, NOT to get out the vote, but to ask for money - campaign donations. The gist of the call is that its not important that they vote, because the election is over, and then they ask for money to help put this primary campaign to an end and move on to the general election. Basically, they are telling voters its over. Then they ask for $400 donations. What the dollar amount is about, I don’t know. Perhaps they are just getting greedy.

Some of her friends know I have been calling and we do have friends that are only a finger click away.

Yes, and notice how they are using censorship with our candidate.  She is being accused as self serving if she says anything about the other candidate.  Senator Clinton is not the one who is disinfranching voters.  The DNC and party "fathers" need to look in the mirror.

    • We need a historic win in WV

      Folks,

Our goal in WV is 80% for HRC and 20% for BO. I want to challenge everyone to make it happens.  If we show the world that Hillary can win by 60%, I know that she will be the next President.

Again I want to challenge everyone to proactive for this campaign by calling, donating, and canvassing for the rest of the primary states, especially in WV. We need to concentrate in WV first, then the rest of the primary states.

WE NEED A HISTORIC WIN IN WV, and it is really up to us. I know we can do this because Hillary is a fighter.

PLEASE KEEP CHARGING……..Don't listen to these pundits, they have been treating Hillary unfairly.

Common people, it is up to us....

      by magic007 at 5/8/2008 5:42:35 PM

      • I AGREE!!!

IF HILLAY CAN WIN WV BY EVEN 40%, SHE WILL BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT!

by People at 5/8/2008 6:48:47 PM

        • BUT, with one condition...

There has to be a BIG turnout in WV in order for us to gain significant popular vote!

Get out the vote in WV is the KEY!!!

MAKE SURE THERE IS A BIG TURNOUT IN WV!!!

IF BO CAN GET THE VOTE OUT FOR HIM IN NC, WE SHOULD DO THE SAME IN WV TO EVEN THINGS UP!!!

by People at 5/8/2008 7:05:39 PM

      • We need to heed today I had more hang ups than usual could it be this?

Pulled from an email I received:

Could you pass some info on to the rest of the callers that are calling into WV?

I’ve been talking with some people already on the ground in WV and the Obama camp is calling voters, NOT to get out the vote, but to ask for money - campaign donations. The gist of the call is that its not important that they vote, because the election is over, and then they ask for money to help put this primary campaign to an end and move on to the general election. Basically, they are telling voters its over. Then they ask for $400 donations. What the dollar amount is about, I don’t know. Perhaps they are just getting greedy.

by RSTR at 5/10/2008 12:34:22 AM

      • This is the first time I've donated to a candidate and joined a campaign. I've even made calls to voters  in WV which is very out of character for me. I have to say it's very rewarding to actually be proactive instead of watching and hoping things will change.

I get the sense Hilliary is doing well in WV, but we should definitely keep on trying and never let up, just like Hilliary.

Does anyone have a sense of how she will fair in Oregon?

by ginafgz at 5/10/2008 1:27:29 AM

Work ethics and Arrogance do not mix

Obama's campaign has shown arrogance time and time again.  Their list is long one.  Another blogger said he had "rudderless ethics".  We could almost start  an Obama arrogant list.

Working voters support Hillary because she DOES understand their plight and IS committed to getting America back on track.  She has our trust because she does connect with her voters.

West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon, SC, Montana, and Puerto Rico--lets show America that Hillary is the one for us.

Also there are great articles to read on www.savagepolics.com.  Read the one called Race, Race, Race.

by taylorgrob at 5/8/2008 5:35:18 PM

    • Please Donate $5 so HRC can count on our support.

      Every dollar counts.
      BO cant win without US.
WE need to keep supporting HRC if she is to win.

I feel better today. People are beginning to stand up for Hillary. It seems that the press is getting hammered by the viewers for spinning HRC's win in IN.

by Poochgirl at 5/8/2008 5:46:46 PM

    • Yes! South Dakota too! And Calls to West Virginia!

      Don't forget South Dakota!

I'm calling West Virginia right now. Man! I've only made 26 phone calls so far. Calls are going slow because of the opportunities to try to persuade undecideds and/or convince them to vote!

If I let the undecideds go or don't try to get the people to vote if they have decided their votes don't matter, the call seems wasted. At this rate, however, I don't know how we can get through all these calls without finding more of us to make more calls!

I can tell from my few calls today that we have opportunities to get more people not only to support Hillary, but to actually cast their ballots for her. One 80 year old man, who was not even necessarily for Hillary (but not against her) said he had no intention of voting because he was mad as _________ that service men and women overseas could not have voices heard in the Caucus States. I really had to talk about this! He insisted that we should make CNN put forward this issue big time! Wow! Finally, he said, “I have to go feed the chickens now, but I’ve got 6 people here. I will get them to vote for Hillary!”

The call took a long time. Now, I’m taking time to write to you all about it. And that is just one example of several conversations I’ve had that took a long time. If any of you have any input, ideas or advice for me, I’m open to whatever can help Hillary get 100% of the vote in West Virginia!

More calls! More calls! More calls!

by HeadsandHeartsforHillary at 5/8/2008 6:04:02 PM

      • Another WV caller

This was posted on Hillary's other thread and wanted to repeat it here:

URGENT: Canvass and Make Calls to WV

I was in Charles Town, WV, today. I saw one Obama sign and NO Hillary Clinton signs. We need to canvass and make calls to WV. On the TaylorMarsh.com website, one blogger advised that several callers commented that they supported Hillary, but were not going to vote, because they felt that there vote didn't matter, since the media is saying that Obama is the nominee. PLEASE, PLEASE canvass and make calls to let the people of WV know that they MUST vote and that their vote DOES matter. I will spend all day Saturday either making calls from the headquarters in Arlington, VA, or canvassing in WV. Haven't decided which yet, but all I know is that I will spend the entire day working for Hillary. PLEASE join me. I'm maxed out, so please donate on my behalf and I'll make calls for you.

If you've never made calls before on behalf of Hillary's campaign, she needs you more than ever now. If you don't feel comfortable making calls from home, please go to one of the campaign offices.

        • Hello everyone! Just finished making calls to Oregon.....

I was only able to make 21 calls, because 5 of people I called today had me on the phone for like 15-30 mins on the average, who are undecideds. They discussed variety of issues, including the holiday gas tax! Phew!!  Was tough I tell you. The Oregonians are so into politics that they love to talk about issues point by point! Well, I had to tell them briefly Hillary's programs to make my case. I did get 5 voters going for our girl and 2 for BO. The rest are voice messages and invalid or diconnected numbers. With the undecideds, there is one question that I ask them before I let them go - is "GIVEN THE SERIOUS PROBLEMS WE FACE TODAY IN OUR COUNTRY, DO THEY HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT MR OBAMA CAN HANDLE THE JOB??"  And 4 of them emphatically said NO!!!!!!!!  And I said ... "there you go...."   ;-)
Guys, we need to call Oregon as well because most of them already received the primary ballots and they may mail it anytime now. So we need to reach out to them before they get to fill out those ballots and mail them. So please, help call Oregon. We can win Oregon!!!  Thanks guys.

          Stronger Together, United Behind Hillary!

          • OREGON BALLOTS BEING MAILED-IN NOW !

Yes...Ballots were sent out last week, and my and husband and I, like many of our friends, have already mailed ours IN. I predict that this weekend a lot of voters will do the same for Monday's mail pickups.

Remember, here in Oregon, May 20 is ONLY the date all of the votes are counted and announced--NO poll-voting on that day! Oregonians are voting NOW!  So yes, we need your help with calling and blogging out here.

A NOTE TO HILLARY: You are my mentor. I wish I could give you one giant HUG for who you are and what you stand for. I feel extremely grateful to be a part of your support team. From one Mom to another, thank you.

            by oregon4hill at 5/8/2008 10:07:14 PM

          • No boredom here!

I keep reading in the press (do I hear boos?) that everyone's bored with the primary and that Hillary should drop out and get it over with.  The press wants her to drop out mainly so they can write about it (and can you imagine the little psychodramas they'd invent?).  Well, people, even journalists, are not bored in Oregon, or any of the other late-voting states.  They haven't had the chance in years to discuss, maybe even meet, and vote for the candidate they like, as opposed to the one they have to settle for.  Thanks, Maria in NJ, for your good work.

by lioness at 5/9/2008 10:33:25 AM

      • Quiet Riot

No advice, just keep it up!  Several of us meet most every evening and every weekend to call whatever states they need us to.

It's worth the time and effort.  I have wasted, however, valuable time on a couple of self-identified bitter people who have never voted before in their life and don't intend to now!

        Ahh, live and learn.

by maddie at 5/9/2008 1:56:32 AM

    • I agree with you!--I am not ready to make "nice"- On to Win this Race!

If the Florida and Michigan delegation is not seated to reflect the actual votes of the people- the nominee is not valid.

If Obama refuses to do this- then the DNC needs to overrule him and have a re vote in Florida and Michigan or the nomination is not valid.

This race is in a virtual tie or we would not be in this situation. Bullying the woman candidate to get out of the race is the wrong unethical thing to do.

If the DNC and the superdelegates don't think that they are disenfranchising the heart of the party if they crown Jr. before we hear from all the voters and figure out Florida and Michigan, they have a big surprise headed their way.

It's funny how everyone is talking about how if Obama is not crowned the nominee by forcing all the superdelegates to vote for him--a whole community will be disenfranchised. Talk about scare tactics. Why are they so afraid of letting all the states vote?
      Including Florida and Michigan??? Why?

Well- a whole community will also be disenfranchised if this process is not allowed to move forward in a Democratic Way. Hillary has a strong coalition of supporters. We are not dumb. We can see what is going on.

      • To Evy Galen

Seriously, I think that the male Power Elite is threatened by Hillary's brillance being in a woman's body.   WHAT ELSE  could explain all the outright cheating???

by faithfuzzyseri at 5/8/2008 8:01:57 PM

        • Yes- Jacqueline!

Hillary is an elder stateswoman- I think that she is a woman in that male dominated world of DC really rocks their boat.
She is strong. She will be in charge.
The Jr. Senator of Illinois is in my opinion just not ready to be President. He needs more experience.
It's so obvious- just look at the resume. It says it all when you compare the resumes.

"Obama downplays notion that he is already the Democratic nominee."
This is to be read at the page of CNN and TIME magazine writes on cover "And the winner is.." with a picture of BO..what is this all about?People show your support tell what you think about those statements and work your heart out. All we are asking for is 4 more weeks of campaigning so we can show that we lead the popular vote(then.) and that the DNC as a chance to win the general Election with FL and MI, otherwise the DNC just determined the next President: Congratulations Sen. McCain...We can change that and we WILL! God bless you!

by People at 5/8/2008 6:56:48 PM

      • TURNOUT IS KEY!

That's the key. We cannot rely on polling numbers. We've got to stay active. We've got to keep calling the up coming states, blogging, writing letter to editors in their local papers, canvassing, pounding on doors, talking to people, donating, putting out signs, doanting bumper stickers and rallysigns and yard signs, volunteering to drive the elderly voters to the polls!  The media and punditocracy is trying to end this and not let the voters have their say! We cannot let that happen!

It takes hard work, and we know we're up to it!
