Strongest at the Top of the Ticket: Several members of Congress released a letter today to other Democrats touting their support for Hillary, saying she is the strongest candidate to have at the top of the ticket in the fall: “[W]e are convinced that Hillary Clinton has the vision, skills and commitment to make the changes our country needs.  As Democrats who have run and won in competitive Congressional districts and battleground states, we believe that Hillary is best positioned to successfully lead the Democratic ticket in districts and states like ours around the country.”  Read the letter.

Automatic Delegate Watch: Hillary received the endorsement of automatic delegate and Congressman Chris Carney (D-PA). Read more.

Honoring the Votes of Millions of People: In a letter written to Sen. Obama yesterday, Hillary urges him to “honor the votes of the millions of people who went to the polls in Florida and Michigan…One of the foremost principles of our party is that citizens be allowed to vote and that those votes be counted.” Read the letter.

Previewing Today: “Hillary Clinton catches up with former Make-A-Wish winner Oregonian, still a big fan, now works for the former first lady's campaign.” Read more.

“Hillary Clinton Would be the Stronger Candidate” The Charleston Daily Mail endorsed Hillary yesterday, saying: “She is by far the more experienced of the Democratic candidates, and the one who has had to learn the most about West Virginia.” Read more.

West Virginia is a Test: At a rally in Charleston, WV yesterday, Hillary said: “I'm running to be president of all 50 states…I think we ought to keep this going so the people of West Virginia's voices are heard…West Virginia is a test…It's a test for me and a test for Sen. Obama.” Read more.

South Dakota “Appearance Thrills Supporters” One South Dakota supporter at Hillary’s Sioux Falls rally yesterday said: “"It feels good to be this close to hopefully the next president.” Read more.

Support for the Farm Bill: Hillary released the following statement today: “Unfortunately, the Bush Administration is signaling that the President will veto the [farm] bill. Saying no to the farm bill would be saying no to rural America. I call on President Bush to get out of the way. When Congress sends President Bush the farm bill, he needs to sign it so we can start taking care of rural America.” Read more.

I have has the pleasure to be a supporter with time and money. The press loves to talk about race, but no one talks about how you lost votes due to sexist ideology and reverse racism. Hillary; Happy Mothers Day, I love you, your work ethic, your dream of a better america and wish you all the best.

        • Being a Democrat

I am so very glad that Hillary is staying in the race.  I am a staunch Democrat, but it really scares me that a Muslim may be in the presidential race.  If the time comes, that it happens, I WILL NOT vote and I have been voting since I was twenty-one years of age. Please do not drop out of the race.

I said the same last night when I found myself agreeing with Karl Rove. Maybe Hillary can be the head of that party.

      • All Hillary Supporters - it's time to start Marching

Let's begin to get together to hold rallies in front of every news station throughout the country and in front of the White House.  It is time for all of Hillary's supporters to stand up for fairness.  Let's show them that we do matter and that our vote does count.  It is time for fair and balanced coverage of all candidates and all voters.  If enough of us stand up and show our support for Hillary we will be heard and Washington and the pundits will listen.  Just think - a Martin Luther King type March for every vote to count.  We need to insist that our country have a fair and honest election and we can do it - it's not too late.  Let's Go - Do it for our Country.

      • Bringing people together

I believe that Hillary can unite people from all walks of life.  She demonstrates that she listens, and she has the experience to create solutions that work.  It's one thing to make promises, another to work hard to deliver.  Justice and opportunity are what bring people together in the end. I believe Hillary has a real plan to bridge divides in our society by demanding justice and creating opportunity for all, and will work hard to bring dreams to reality.  That is the sign of a true leader. The Democratic Party cannot afford to blow this chance.

Let us continue to give our support to Hillary. This is a crucial time in the history of our great nation. Hillary is the only candidate that has all the solutions to our national problems. Hillary is the most experience, the most qualified, the most electable and the most dedicated of all the candidates. Let us double or triple all our efforts to support her and make sure that she becomes the next president of our great nation. Hillary will help our country to  maintain her position as the No.1 nation in the world. I am confident that if we work hard and make sure that we ask our family members, friends, neighbors, and co - workers to vote for Hillary, shes will win all the remaining states. PLEASE POST THIS- Hillary will win -KEEP THE FAITH PEOPLE

WEST VIRGINIA--645,000 Democrats Kentucky 1,685,000 Democrats  Puerto Rico 1,500,000 Democrats IF 50% of these people vote as in the other states-THAT'S 2,000,000 VOTES-----IF HILLARY GETS 65% of the votes-SHE WILL PICK UP OVER 600,000 in the popular vote total. IF 70%-OVER 800,000. These are do-able numbers. Keep the faith. The important thing to do is DONATE, DONATE, DONATE and CALL,CALL,CALL. If Hillary does this, which she will and enough people call Oregon and BO gets upset there after he,s already said he,ll win there and his campaign will declare victory on May 20th. It,ll change this race overnight and the rightful person will declare victory. OUR HILLARY> ROGER IN MILWAUKEE

It isn't over yet!  Let's rally behind our Madam President!

Light more candles - from the high of 3000+ last Tuesday, it has now dwindled down to 500+.  Let's keep the flame aglow!

by jollycat at 5/9/2008 1:32:15 PM

      • Easily done

That is a very doable equation and the turnout is likely to be even higher than 50% and Hillary could win by pretty big margins, and add to that the FL and MI wins, Hillary will win the popular vote.

As for the delegates I think Hillary will gain 10 in WV, 21 in KY, and all 55 in PR, thats a gain of around 86, thatll close the gap down to around 61 delegates. Then there is FL and MI, where Hillary should rightfully gain 73 over Obama and 41 in FL, so if democracy and my calculations prevail Hillary should beat Obama by 53 delegates. HILLARY WILL WIN

        WE WILL WIN

Why I support Senator Clinton for president

I believe that Senator Clinton has the judgment, skills, experience and strength necessary to work through the enormous challenges in today’s world.
Senator Clinton has a record of working for civil and human rights in America and around the world. She speaks out for the voiceless and stands up for the disenfranchised despite being attacked by those who do not agree with her. She has shown that she can talk with and listen to her adversaries and establish common ground.  Through her actions she has demonstrated that she can work across party lines and get thing done. Senator Clinton represents a different voice that challenges the powerful and despite her adversaries continued attacks, to diminish and demonize her, she has the inner strength and maturity to stand up for all the people.
In closing, Senator Clinton represents one of the many reasons why I love America.

Whatever you can give from $1.00 to $1000, don't be ashamed of what you can afford. It will be greatly appreciated, I'm sure, by Hillary.

    • Keep singing Blue Bir

Hillary is "simply the best and the brightest." She has experience and she is ready to work hard and long to try to fix the many problems that now face this country. You know that she believes in what she is saying, because she has been willing to spend millions of her own money. She has kept her word - "in it to win it." How can you possibly win ,if you drop out for the convenience of others. She has said that she will work hard for the  Nominee, whoever it may be.SHE WILL KEEP HER WORD ." So back down super delegates and DNC. SHE will not cause the DEMS. to lose in NOV.Peopel in all states in this country deserve the right to vote in a primary for the nominee who is ready aand willing to hear the problems of each state and make plans to correct it. DON't Give Up now. VOTE CONTRIBUTE to the LAdy who has kept her promise.

by polittical junkie at 5/10/2008 11:09:00 AM

    As I have said before...

Hillary is supportive of all 50 states votes being counted.

That is what a DEMOCRACY is!!

BO is trying to suppress the last states and the 2 disenfranchised states.

It is outrageous that Americans stand for this, no less the leaders of the democratic party.

That's why I have switched to Independent.

We will power on Hillary, we will continue to fight for your nomination.

by suef at 5/9/2008 10:46:26 AM

    • Every Vote Counts!

Absolutely, every vote should count!  But then, of course, superdelegates shouldn't overturn the will of the voters either.

by Jim from Massachusetts at 5/9/2008 11:10:47 AM

      • The role of superdelegates....

As crazy as it may sound, the role of superdelegates is to make the best judgment as to who can best represent the party and win in November!

That is why this group was designed!

        by alabamian18 at 5/9/2008 12:13:43 PM

        • the role of the superdelegates

Yes that is why the group was designed- to make the best judgement for Nov. Part of that consideration, surely, must be to have all the states votes counted. This should be handled at the convention, because that is the time that the party is to nominate the PARTY CANDIDATE for the NOV. election. THIS IS THE ONLY FAIR WAY>

by polittical junkie at 5/9/2008 2:02:10 PM

          • Super Delegates

Super delegates should keep there preferences to themselves until

          • Super Delegates

Right, Majn.  However, I know that some superdelegates have gotten alot of heat for endorsing Hillary.  I am from Georgia and look what happened to John Lewis.  I pray daily for Hillary and her campaign.

by wlm at 5/9/2008 9:34:18 PM

      • Why do they exist then?

The automatic delegates are supposed to exercise their experience and perspective to ensure victory in the fall.
Their vote is not linked to the will of the voters, but to the voters' best interests as understood by the party core.
Why is this so hard to comprehend?

by maryiat at 5/9/2008 7:38:38 PM

    • one more battle

Unfortunately it looks like we're going to seem like we're on the wrong side of this one again.  Looks like BO's camp has made deals with FL and MI to seat their delegates and now it's up to us to make sure it doesn't happen because it doesn't give HIll what she needs to win.  I'm sure the media will say we're being stubborn and we're changing the rules again but we can't give up until we get all the delegates we won even if the contests weren't totally legit.  GO HILL!

It is not over ,and already some are begin to fall a part. Please some one take the lead, how do you think Hillary would feel if she knew we were ready to throw in the towel? Do not think about giving up on her, she working so hard for us.Trust her she know what to done.

This would give Sen. Obama feel like he has put FEAR in us, we should be willing to go all the way with SEN HILLARY CLINTON . That is what we promised we would do. Let's stop this weird thinking.
No matter how this election turn out we still have work to do, November to think what do about write in's .
Think about this if they will not nomanate Hillary Clinton, let us not support these delagate or donate money to there campaign, and let them know this and keep your word , because they think we will forget about what we say.
Mean while let us pray, call, donate, and what ever else we can do.

      • hillmania

All votes must count and "all" delegates and super-delegates as of January '08 primary must be seated. How do I see this playing out? We get what we demand and what is right. This is not just about Hillary, this is about our legal rights as voters ! They have stepped all over our rights. This is America where every vote is to count. How can we tell the world, that Democracy works...when they step all over it here in the good old USA ?  Yes we are mad as hell, and if the DNC does not fix this problem, they will be sealing their own fate..which is "defeat" in November 2008.If a survay was done of Florida voters, the country would be "amazed" as to how angry we are about this whole situation. Also, the DNC must be loosing millions and millions of dollars in lost membership fees and donations. They have played right into the hands of the Republicans.

    Quiet Riot!

How completely arrogant of the pundits and "elders" of the democratic party to think we are just going to "fall in line" behind BO.

I will not fall in line behind someone who has no business leading me in the first place!

I will support Hillary...and HILLARY only for Pres this November!

The only way I'm voting for BO is for Vice President!

Please sign this petition to show your support for Hillary and that you will not stand for the democratic party to ignore our voices!

    Phone Call Campaign Today!
It's only three phone calls that will mean a lot!

While our emailing and letters are effective,
We need to pump up the volume today and make these 3 phone calls today and email friends and family not on the blog to do the same. You'll feel great doing it to!
    On to Victory with Hillary!

The race is still a virtual tie- very very close

    1. The race must continue through June 3rd!

    2. MI and FL  Delegates must reflect the actual vote OR
We need a re vote in  MI and FL in July.
The nomination will not be valid any other way.

    • DNC HQ #

I just called the DNC posted above (thanks Evy) which is a customer service number.  Although the gal on the phone was nice, she did not have much info, she gave me HQ # (which is not toll free) but I am going to call them.

I think HQ needs to hear, not just the customer service reps

    • OK DONE

Have left messages and spoke to Harry Reid's office, plan on making several more calls through out the day.

Our voices have got to be heard.  We must speak up for our Michigan and Florida voters.

      It's not a democracy if everyone's vote doesn't count.

by suef at 5/9/2008 12:24:53 PM

    • Called all 3

Laid it on the the line for them.  No Hillary, no delegates from MI & FL (counted), NO VOTE!

    Please keep donating!

This is not over yet, and what better way to encourage our Hillary and team to keep fighting than to donate.  On the previous blog I mentioned that I donated $25 this morning and hillvote matched it.  Please, please the rest of you match us. And yes, keep those calls going to the upcoming primary states and the DNC. Don't let the DNC wait until it is too late to make some face saving gesture regarding Florida and Michigan. I have already called them and they are being bombarded. We need more calls to make sure the message is loud and clear.

    Go Hillary!

by drbodkin at 5/9/2008 10:51:35 AM

    THIS IS NOT OVER YET

Again, the media and Bo camp think they can push us out, silence our voices, suppress or votes. Our resolve is even stronger now. We support you Senator Clinton, all the way to the Convention!!!

Let's keep the pressure on the DNC to seat the Fl & MI delegates as they are, count all the votes, and no splitting of the delegates. WE are 50 states, not 48.

The media has been ruthless, but, we will fight on. WE are with you, as you are with us.

    Rise Hillary Village Rise!!!!!!!!!

by andersen at 5/9/2008 10:52:30 AM

    • I second that motion! We are 50 states not 48!

We are 50 states not 48!

We will not allow the DNC to disenfranchise the voters in Florida and Michigan this way!

We will go all the way to the convention with this!
The Mil Hill March will descend in Denver if MI and FL are not heard!
      Go Hill Go!
      All the way!

by Evy Galan at 5/9/2008 10:58:43 AM

      • 50 States!

Should we all the superdelegates to disenfranchise ALL the voters in 50 states by overturning their votes?

by Jim from Massachusetts at 5/9/2008 11:27:07 AM

        • 50 states including MA, SD from that state should go to Hillary

No superdelegate should not disenfranchise voters of Primary state, starting with MA, Mr Kerry and Kennedy should support Hillary as SD as she won that state handly.  Now for Caucuses, yes SD should use their best judgement as that process does not represent all the voters in the state.
This was proven in Texas and Washington St dual voting process.
The other SD that no longer have political jobs should not be voting based on fininical contribution to their causes, which is happening.
There for SD process is horribly flawed.
If a candidate can not win in November, then you did no justice to anyone, in this case Hillary and the Democratic party.

by Paul Georiga at 5/9/2008 1:15:44 PM

    • I agree

      It is NOT OVER!
If Hillary actually gets 80% of the votes for the remaining states, except OR, she's definitely very much within striking distance!  Its only the SD's which have tipped the scales over to BO, due to excessive positive press.  Like somebody said, the press is campaigning for him.

      Oh well, we shall persevere!

by jollycat at 5/9/2008 11:10:10 AM

    • IT is not over yet

It is not over yet .It should not be over until the convention. At that point there sound be  an open televised debate and vote regarding the delegates from FLA and MI. The DNC MUST NOT BE ALLOWED TO IMPOSE THEIR WILL OVER THE REAL VOTES OF THE PEOPLE! SHAME ON THEM!
The media has also been pounding about the fact that to continue now means defeat in NOV. It certainly does not. TO continue now means permitting the process to progress, allowing every state to have representation. Hillary will be true to her word. She has said that she will work as hard as she can to get a DEM in the White House. Unlike, TK did, she will do it. SHE IS TRUE.Don't let them force her out.
      POLITICAL JUNKIE

    Oregon

Two super delegates in Oregon went to Obama this morning (wasn't unexpected).  Hillary gave a rousing speech in Central Point Oregon with the Oregon Governor beside her.  The media is trying to push her out of the race.  I don't understand how SDs can still go to Obama when he's still not beating McCain like Hillary is.  I read a piece two days ago that stated Obama is in the same statistical position that John Kerry and Al Gore were in 2000 and 2004.  We all know where that went.  How wrong can a bunch of people be?  Are they blind?  CNN reports that Hillary is keeping to herself about her future in the race.  They also report that Hillary will go out after a BIG WIN in WV.  Come on folks, let's donate to help our gal pay her bills.  Karen in WA

I have said several times how thankful I am when I come here.

If I only listed to and read MSM, I would believe them but when I come here and I see so much support and I look at the numbers and they are so close, I also ask myself, how blind are some people?

I know I have sounded very bitter on a few of my posts this week and I have had a rough week but I have felt more energy and better with every passing day and this blog has been a major influence.

Please post the candle link, I need to light one today.

      • North NJ Joe

just called the DNC and got through, told them  the following.

        1. Fl/MI votes should be counted the way they were set, I am in Fl and I did not go out on January 29th to vote  thinking my vote would not be counted, that I am a citizen of the US and I should be respected as one.

        2. Someone should reel Mr. Obama in and tell him to let this voting process play out and stop declaring himself the nominee.

Got a very nice young lady, okay onto work again and will call in between.

        Hope this posts!

We need to make sure we get that number on every page here and to as many people as we can.I called and told them I have been a democrat for 28 years and I will not support the nominee in November if they don't count the people of Florida and Michigan.I also told them that I don't see how the democrats will win in November against the republicans if they can't win the swing states we need to get to 270 electoral votes needed to win the presidency. Please everyone call and make sure the number gets on each page of the blogs here.

Let's hope the advertisers and sponsors on these networks "GET" THIS!   That  may be the only way things change --  if people contact those advertisers and let them know what we think of the way the media bias is trashing our democracy.

    WHY I SUPPORT SENTATOR CLINTON

In closing, Senator Clinton represents one of the many reasons why I love America.

by blue bird at 5/9/2008 10:59:31 AM

She still has more than 270 electoral college votes

The latest polls show that in a matchup with McCain, Hillary would still win the Presidency! Go and see for yourself:

Obama on the other hand (http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2008/Obama/Maps/M...) loses against McCain who now commands 274 EC votes by picking up Wisconsin.

Since April 19th, Clinton has permanently scored more than 270 EC votes, while Obama was not able to reach the magic 270 even once in that quite long period.

She is the stronger candidate and hopefully, strong results from West Virginia and Kentucky and Oregon will bring the superdelegates to their senses!!

    Sioux Falls rally

I watched Sioux Falls rally from CNN and got very emotional to see her on the trail again. Her voice is as strong and confident as always. She is so amazing and inspiring!!! She is the most qualified for the most important job in the world. It is not an internship as Mitt Romney put it yesterday when asked about BO.

Donated! $1200+ since later January. Let us help her to finish what she started.

Thanks for the phone numbers.  I just called both and left my message.  My message as a FL resident is:  Senator Obama, honor the elections in Florida, respect the Consitution of the United States, or STEP DOWN!!

by Florida for Hillary at 5/9/2008 12:16:20 PM

    • Too Late for BO to get any support in the GE from FL and MI

BO already stated his position on FL and MI and to not count them in the primary.  Only Hillary or McCain can win Florida now.
They need to count Florida and Michigan to make the primary valid, but it will not change what Obama did in not supporting their votes to begin with, the negative train left the station.

The Florida Rally will need a margee person, such as Hillary, Bill, Chelsea, Elton John, famous singer or actor from Florida, maybe some Florida democrat leaders that were also burned by the non-vote count.

by Paul Georiga at 5/9/2008 11:17:57 AM

Stuff like this really makes you wonder, doesn't it??

Apparently, Obama did not receive as many votes in NC as originally reported because some votes were counted twice. I wonder how many times this has happened in the past where no one caught the mistake.

I FIND THE VOTES IN INDIANA REALLY TROUBLING...
SHE POLLED THERE REALLY HIGH AND EVEN THOUGH POLLS CAN BE OFF, THEY USUALLY AREN'T OFF THAT MUCH IN THE BIG PICTURE OF THINGS.
WE KNOW SHE HAD GREAT GREAT SUPPORT THERE, AND I FIND IT VERY ODD THAT SHE ONLY WON BY 2%...THE VOTING IN LAKE COUNTY SHOULD BE QUESTIONED IN MY OPINION SINCE THEY CAME IN AFTER MIDNIGHT WHEN ALL OTHER VOTES WERE IN MUCH EARLIER. EVEN CNN SEEMED TO WONDER WHAT WAS GOING ON...

No substance, no experience, no integrity, no patriotism, no connection to the middle class, no work ethics, no good judgment, no fighting spirit, no major achievement, no clear background. I have forwarded this to Fox and asked them to investigate and report, please do the same, let them hear from all of us.

The rest of America deserves to know some of the sneaky tactics this guy and his campaign are using.

I am still simmering over Gary Indiana on Tuesday, I still think something fishy went on there.

      • I would send to Greta on FOX

Last night Greta had the clip from a poll in Indianapolis where someone had BO signs inside the polling place and they are prohibited.  It is being investigated.  Greta seems like she is a Hillary supportor or is at least fair with her.  There seems to be a lot of corruption in wanting to get BO the nomination.  I made calls to PA, IN and NC and got positive responses from all.  I think Hillary got more votes than is showing. We needs to make all of these things known!!
