Hillary Visits Sioux Falls

by Matt Tepper
5/9/2008 11:16:21 AM

Hillary Clinton proudly became the first Democratic Presidential candidate to visit the Mount Rushmore State on Thursday afternoon.  Nearly 2000 South Dakotans packed the Landmark Aviation Hangar in Sioux Falls to hear Hillary speak about her Solutions for America.  Hillary clearly demonstrated that she is ready to lead this nation starting on day one and she is best prepared to beat John McCain in November.  When Hillary is president, the voices of South Dakota families will finally be heard.  On June 3rd South Dakotans will get their opportunity to vote in this historic primary!

Check out these great photos from the event:

  • GO SOUTH DAKOTA!!

Thank all of you in South Dakota for standing by Hillary. She could be the one to take the Democrats to the White House not John McCain!

    • Greetings, South Dakota

Let's take it ALL THE WAY to the finish line and finish FIRST!  I'll be doing my part from Texas -- blogging, calling, donating.

Remember- winners NEVER quit and quitters NEVER win!

Hillary is a WINNER!  Hillary CAN beat McCain in the GE -- Obama CAN-NOT!

    • Important info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE POST THIS- Hillary will win -KEEP THE FAITH PEOPLE

WEST VIRGINIA--645,000 Democrats Kentucky 1,685,000 Democrats  Puerto Rico 1,500,000 Democrats IF 50% of these people vote as in the other states-THAT'S 2,000,000 VOTES-----IF HILLARY GETS 65% of the votes-SHE WILL PICK UP OVER 600,000 in the popular vote total. IF 70%-OVER 800,000. These are do-able numbers. Keep the faith. The important thing to do is DONATE, DONATE, DONATE and CALL,CALL,CALL. If Hillary does this, which she will and enough people call Oregon and BO gets upset there after he,s already said he,ll win there and his campaign will declare victory on May 20th. It,ll change this race overnight and the rightful person will declare victory. OUR HILLARY> ROGER IN MILWAUKEE

      • True Delegate Total is 2209!!!!

Many people don't know this...which is why they want hillary to voluntarily drop out of the race......If the votes are counted in Florida you would have to seat the delgates and the magic number is 2209.. not 2025  .there is no way Obama could get that without going to the convention.....MAGIC number 2209 Hilary cannot drop out""" we have to keep working for her!

Thank you for caring what we out here in South Dakota think!  I am proud that you refuse to give up.  That's the kind of president I want!  Hang in there, Hillary!

Why I Support Senator Clinton For President

I believe that Senator Clinton has the judgment, skills, experience and strength necessary to work through the enormous challenges in today’s world.
Senator Clinton has a record of working for civil and human rights in America and around the world. She speaks out for the voiceless and stands up for the disenfranchised despite being attacked by those who do not agree with her. She has shown that she can talk with and listen to her adversaries and establish common ground.  Through her actions she has demonstrated that she can work across party lines and get thing done. Senator Clinton represents a different voice that challenges the powerful and despite her adversaries continued attacks, to diminish and demonize her, she has the inner strength and maturity to stand up for all the people.
In closing, Senator Clinton represents one of the many reasons why I love America.

    • We need Hillary to lead us out of the Bush mess

I agree with blue bird sings. I am so sick of all the "experts" and "pundits" telling Sen. Clinton to quit after the fantastic race she has run. It is an affront to her and to me as one of her supporters.
Hillary, please keep fighting--the nomination should be yours. You are the most qualified candidate. Our nation cannot settle for the winner of a popularity contest. I have donated more than I should already, but will donate $25.00 more and challenge all of you to do the same. We will prevail in this race if we don't lose heart and listen to all the negativity. I am a retired journalist and I have never seen such bias against a candidate especially on the TV networks. I also ask the voters in the remaining primary states to search their souls and ask themselves who will make the BEST President.

    • A Clinton has been my candidate of choice for so long but now ...

I've supported Hillary for so long now that it's quite traumatic to find out that my vote, that of a hardworking American, a Black American, is not critical to her victory.  I'm not voting for Obama.  I'm not voting for McCain.

by cleojones at 5/10/2008 6:03:17 PM

      • Candidate of Choice

Every vote is critical! Write her in.  She's not going to give up on you, so don't give up on her!

    • response to bluebird sings "why i support Hillary Clinton"

I agree with Blue Bird! Sen. Clinton absolutely has shown over the years her uncanny ability to persevere. I believe she is 100% the right one to be the next President! She absolutely cares about the American people and the economy of the United States. She cares about americans who can't afford Medical insurance. She cares about the fact that our jobs are leaving us. I believe she is right on target on all the issues!! I also know that she can win the G. E. against Mccain, Obama has no chance. And you are absolutely correct when you say she can work accross party lines to actualy get things done in washington! I know, becouse i'm a republican and i'm voting for Hillary Clinton the next president of the United States of America!!! I suggest that all Americans Think hard and relly listen! Find the true meaning of what it means to be an American and return America to what it should be! The most powerful and respected nation in the world, with liberty and justice for all!! VOTE HILLARY!

Reading that Obama had passed Hillary Clinton in the superdelegate count today I felt compelled to do my part.  I am from Massachusetts, therefore, I wrote to my democratic party today requesting that they fully respect the voting process that took part in our state.  The 28 unanswered superdelegates from the state of MA should in turn support our decision to elect Hillary.

To everyone that will be voting in the near future -Massachusetts is rooting for Hillary and counting on you!

    GO SOUTH DAKOTA

Sen.Clinton has the tenacity to fight on.She has already proven thatin the senate and in this campaign. She is the the most compete candidate in the campaign. She has the knowledge of what needs to be done to straighten our country. She has the intelligence and capbililty of accomplishing the task on issues we face todayWe need a ready, willing and able leader and sen.Hillary Clinton is that one.She is the most qualified to handle both domestic and foreign issues.Hillary will remain upright with her head held high and leace her footprints on the path to the white house and be an exemplary president president. She has a common sense way in doing and getting the job that is needed done. She looks forward in with a postive attitude.Hillary is the one that can beat McCain.

I have followed this campaing from the start.I can say if it's all about judgement then Sen.Clinton has the far most better judgement.

I can't underdatnd why some media will use their network in bashing sen.Clinton no matter what she does just to give another the clear way of becoming who that media choosen.

I can't belive that the judgement thatsen.Obama say's he has.To me his judgement is the people who did horrible things to our country that he had worked with been with,Was a fundraiser of his.I hold my coutry dear. His judgement has been clear of how he has and was for our country. His judgement. His reguards to our country is not there in doing what's right as his judgement in the people he had been invouled with that conserns me very much so.

I can't see him this time as running our county as a leader.Sen.Clinton has pulled so many into the democrated party also.I have watched all the places she has campaign that she had on video. And I must say that it's sen.Clinton who stuck with the issues in talking with her supporters on issues.

Let's make this happen for sen. Hillary Clinton

    • I received a call from the Clinton Campaign last night.

They were calling for donations and I gave another 250.00.  We have to pull out all stops for this last round if we want to win.We can leave no stone unturned.  If he comes up and wins either W. Virginia or kentucky, sadly it is over.

    ONLY CALLS COUNT NOW

Only calls to West Virginia,KY, Oregon and South Dakota voters count at this point
Only if Hillary has a unbelievable showing in West Virginia first and then the otherremaining states will the media pay attention. Everyone's attention needs to be turned toward the phone calls to West Virginia. Nothing else will help now. This is the cold, hard fact. It comes down to you, your phone, the call system and your personal motivation to keep this race going for Hillary.

NO OTHER ACTIONS EVEN COUNT NOW IN THESE LAST HOURS.DON'T SPEND TIME THANKING BIGWIGS, DON'T TRY TO PERSUADE BIG WIGS,DON'T SPEND TIME WRITING HEARTFELT LETTERS.. JUST CALL THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!VOTE RESULTS IN W.VA ARE THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS NOW WITH THE POWERS THAT BE. THIS IS THE ONLY THING THEY UNDERSTAND. MAKE THEM NERVOUS BY THE NUMBERS WE GET OUT. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS RUSH TO OBAMA IS TO MAKE THEM SEE HE CANNOT GET THE VOTES HE NEEDS TO WIN THE GENERAL ELECTION. GETTING OUT THE VOTE IS THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS NOW. THAT'S THE REALITY OF WHERE ER ARE, HILL FANS.

Yes, in this eleventh-hour fight, nothing else matters anymore .. it is all about the votes of the voters ... sp spend less time blogging and less time writing to the DNC folks, and more time calling and calling voters!

      • I also agree...

but some of us are at work and can't make calls -- but we want to post to show our support...and also write to the DNC, blog, etc.  We can't be on the phone while at work -- but we can TYPE!

You're right Marilyn -- there are lots of things we can do to help this campaign, but I would imagine the most important one RIGHT now is to have a "newsworthy" upset in West Virginia.  We've got to, got to get Hillary back on the news for a positive reason . . . and show the rest of the nation she's not ready to be counted out.

You've helped me remember that the best thing we can do is actually reach VOTERS.

I will start my West Virginia calling later today and throughout the weekend.

        Let's get going . . . let's get CALLING!!!

    • Good morning, Normita,

I just e-mailed the DNC as a followup to my phone call earlier this morning to make them aware of my displeasure with their timid behavior regarding the counting of every single vote from Florida and Michigan. Only a Presidential candidate with a gelatinous spine would want to suppress votes, it is not democratic now is it?

Again, I donated $25 this morning.  Who will match that?

by drbodkin at 5/9/2008 12:19:12 PM

      • Just made mine

drbodkin, I just made my daily (small) donation for Hillary.

        GO HILLARY!

    Oregon...

If Hillary can win Oregon or at the very least keep Obama's margin down, I think that will be a sign for superdelegates that will be hard to ignore- not to mention the margins we will see in WV, KY and PR..Obama cannot win the general- Hillary has the voter demographics that can put typically republican states into play.

    • Great article!

I read this earlier this morning and he is right on. He also has a link in the story that leads to a graph, outlining estimated popular vote total scenarios.

Everyone needs to read this today! It will PROVE that there is still plenty of hope and still a good chance that Senator Clinton can win the popular vote.

      http://www.realclearpolitics.com/horseraceblog/200...

And PLEASE keep donating! I gave $50 yesterday and will give more tomorrow.

Hillary CAN WIN. Do NOT listen to the Talking Heads! They just want to pressure her to quit so "their guy" can win. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!

And HOW DARE THEY? How dare they try pressuring her to quit? Have you EVER heard such baloney? Never in our history has anyone been pressured to quit before the final talley... but yet, they want Hillary to throw in the towel before the magic number? And it's only been in the past few elections that we haven't gone all the way to the convention. It has almost always been that we ended up at the convention.

Going to convention has been the norm in our history. DON'T LET THEM TELL YOU DIFFERENT!

So, put your earmuffs and blinders on. Block them out. You know who you want - so go to work for OUR GIRL!

She deserves the best we've got to give, cause she is #1.

        I totally agree with you.

Never in our history has anyone been pressured to quit, but never in our history has there been a female candidate. I suspect that's where the problem is for these "good ole boys" who are demanding that Hillary should drop out. Weak men fear a strong woman, they always have and they always will.

The media has become a bunch of overrated hacks who are legends in their own minds!!

        Stay Strong Hillary!!!!

by fromMA at 5/9/2008 12:25:50 PM

    I am so upset ...

The news is getting me so upset ... I won't vote for Obama, I won't no matter what.  I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt - went out and got his book - all I had to read was the intro and the first chapter and all questions were answered - I DON'T want him for president.  I don't care WHAT the democrats say - I will not vote for Obama.  I have not decided yet if I vote for McCain or don't vote at all - but if Hillary is knocked out of it by the superdelegates - they can consider one democratic vote gone.  Hillary, I love you - I have supported you, I have contributed to your campaign on several occasions and I wish I could have done more.  You are the ONLY answer for this country in the shape it is in.  Donna Fernandez

    by Skippy771 at 5/9/2008 12:35:01 PM

    • Stop listening to the MSM Ms. Fernandez

Focus on the news in this blog. Turn the TV news off. SKip the politics section in the paper. Keep going Donna. You must get out your telephone and keep calling voters in the remaining primary states. Don't fret. Don't be sad. Stand with Hillary. She is not giving up on us, so don't give up on her. Call. Get out your telephone now and call voters. That's what counts, VOTES. Good luck. Stay positive.

      by Rozanna M at 5/9/2008 9:52:28 PM

    • I am upset, also.........

I agree with the Donna's comment. I'm torn with this

decision, but, if Hillary doesn't become the Democratic candidate, I'm not sure that I'll vote this year.  I have voted in every Presidential election since 1976; so this is not an easy decision.  I truly don't believe that Sen. Obama has the experience that is needed to be the President of the United States.  I'm not alone - in my circle of friends and family, I know of many people that are feeling the same way.  I realize that it is our duty as citizens, to vote; but I can't vote for someone that I don't think will do a good job.  I know I would be feeling differently
bout this,if Obama had more experience.  Even the well known political figures that I see on T.V. that have given Sen. Obama their support, can't give any specifics on his political career.  Quite honestly, I'm getting very tired of hearing how he is pulling everyone together, and how inspirational his speeches are.  It takes more than that, to be a good President.

    • We could always write her in!

Skippy and all those who vow not to vote Obama but are reluctant to vote McCain, instead of not voting at all in Nov, I hope we could write Hillary in to at least express our support.  Or maybe if enough people write her in...

Lets make calls now for the remaining primary contests.  If Obama was nominated, lets start making calls to encourage the discouraged to write in!

    CALL WV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    From another blog:

I made calls last night and this morning to WV and heard several times from people who felt like Hillary's chance was over. They definitely supported her and many said they "wished" she still had a shot, but you could tell the thought it was over.

One man in particular that I spoke to just kept saying "I don't know. I just don't know how it's gonna happen. I'll get out on Tuesday if I can, but I just don't know."

These people have been brainwashed and beaten down by the media. We need to let them know that Hillary is going to keep fighting and will prevail!!!

Okay, back to my calls to Oregon!

    GO HILLARY!

by Normita at 5/9/2008 1:49:47 PM

    read this

". . .So, here's my question. What happens to "It's Over" if Clinton pulls a 40-point victory in West Virginia on Tuesday, then follows it up a week later with a 30-point victory in Kentucky? If these states turn out in the same margins that states since March 4th have averaged, that would imply a net of about 290,000 votes for Clinton. That puts her within striking distance of a reasonable popular vote victory. "Over" will be over as we turn our attention to Puerto Rico.

There are good reasons not to take Puerto Rico lightly, even though the press has continued to do exactly that. I would note: (a) Puerto Ricans vote in large numbers (2 million in the last gubernatorial election); (b) Puerto Ricans have never had this important a role in United States presidential politics; (c) Puerto Rico's politics is focused at least partially on how (if at all) to adjust its relationship with the United States; (d) Puerto Rico's is an open primary, and the residents of the Commonwealth, who are United States citizens, do not see themselves as Republicans or Democrats.

The inference I draw is that Puerto Ricans could turn out in huge numbers. If they do, and they swing for Clinton in a sizeable way, the popular vote lead could swing, too. Add 290,000 votes from West Virginia and Kentucky to 250,000 votes from Puerto Rico, account for expected losses in Oregon, Montana, and South Dakota, and you get Clinton leading in many popular vote counts, some of which are really quite valid. If she has one of those leads when the final votes are counted on June 3rd, the race will go on to the convention.

Am I predicting that all of this will happen? No. That would be quite presumptuous. The problem is not that any of these incidents is individually unlikely. It is not unlikely that Clinton will get a huge victory in Kentucky, West Virginia, or Puerto Rico. Theoretically, I would wager at least one of the three will happen. The problem is that she has to do all three. What's more, she has to keep it competitive in Oregon (just how competitive depends on her margins in the other states). That's a tall order - four big things to do with no margin for error. I'd never predict that she could do all four. I may be a contrarian, but I am not an idiot!

Her biggest impediment might be the development (finally!) of some momentum. With the crush of stories touting the end of the race, will her vote be depressed in Kentucky and West Virginia? I doubt her voters would actually go for Obama - but they might stay home, thus diminishing both her overall margin of victory and/or her net vote score. Incidentally, I did find some good news for Clinton: finals week at WVU ends on Saturday.

My point is that those in the media who are declaring this race to be over are necessarily predicting that she can't do all of this. That's a conclusion I can't go along with. It's quite unlikely, but it is still possible - and it is more possible than the "Obama might have a meltdown" scenario.

Minimally, I will predict that West Virginia will be either her best or her second best finish, behind only Arkansas. Kentucky should come in right behind the two. This alone should be enough to induce some caution. I think it is too hasty to declare her finished just days before two of her three best states.

Am I on to something here, or is this merely my contrarian streak running amok? I'll let you decide. In fact, I'll help you make an informed decision! I have updated my vote spreadsheet to include all contests through Tuesday. I encourage you to play around with the numbers yourself. Follow this link to Predict the Race for Yourself, Version 2.0.

At the time of its initial publication, I had not put much thought into Clinton's vote margins in Kentucky and West Virginia. I merely used the results from Tennessee as a rough baseline. I think this was a bit naïve, given what we now know about the white vote in Appalachia. So, those numbers have been updated. I also updated the turnout projections, based on new data. Once again, you can adjust these figures however you like.

Yes - I just sent my letter to DNC. Thank you for the information. Maybe Hillary will run on an Independent Ticket?????????????????????

South Dakota loves Hillary and will vote for her

I agree with some of the past posters here - we need to donate and make calls to West Virigina first to convince the people that it is not a wasted vote for Hillary - 4 out of 10 that I have talked to has felt that way - I can speak from the heart and tell them not to give up - I talk the talk as I am from Kentucky and know how they feel - Hillary is the only one that can save us - I have blogged in all the newspapers and written letters to all the editors in Indiana, West Virginia and North Carolina and think this is the better way to go about it.

If you are at work and can't call then letters to the editors are nice as well - I have personally gotten back several emails complementing how passionate I am for my candidate and they did not know that until the emails to them.

Am very disappointed in Rasmussen Reports . com in declaring Obama as the winner and that they are no longer going to be doing poll totals between the two of them - going to start before the general election - they wrote nice things about Hillary - but this is not a tombstone that they are putting up - we are Hillary people and we will never ever give up - all the way to the convention with surprises in store.

Go Hillary - Rock on - is that the way you say it - I am an old senior citizen - but want to sound hip for my girl.

WE VOTE FOR HILLARY NO MATTER WHAT!

    All,

Check your county election rules to see how you can vote for a write-in candidate.  Should the worst happen, I say we vote for Hillary in November 2008.  Despite the way the Democratic Party has treated Hillary and Bill, she will not run as an Independent.  So I say we write-her in!

Come "Hill" or Highwater, I am voting for Hillary no matter what!

But first, CALL, CALL, CALL WV, Kentucky, Oregon, S Dakota.

    • Come "Hill" or Highwater,

Hillary wins over white male voters

    Posted by MaBe:
    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/05/09/opinion/09faludi...

    My thoughts:
Looking back at the results in WI and comparing it to the results in IN, both neighbouring states to IL, it is clear that Hillary had done very well in IN where she gained a large amount of white male supporters.  Where the electorate in IN favors Obama a lot more than WI, we clearly see that Hillary made a huge progress and overtook Obama in his previous support base.   If primaries were held again for all the post super-Tuesday states, Hillary would simply win.

One thing to remember, this is all due to complicated game rules by DNC that are NOT fair and undemocratic, i.e. caucas systems, etc.  Under fair primary rules like what the republican party has, Hillary would already be the nominee.  No game.  No trickery and discrimination by Obama's campaign and the media.  We only ask for fairness for our candidate.

    Concern and Obama's History

I am concerned. I donated another 25 yesterday even the news said it was helpless for Hillary. I lit a candle for her and said prayers. I talk with family and friends about her strengths.

I am concerned that if she were to lose, Obama, whom I don't trust will be our next president. He has not been as open about his past as Hillary has/is. He is not specific about any plan, Hillary is.

I am concerned we may hear some news about Obama that we don't want in a president (after Hillary bows out).

Reading your posts helps. God bless. I'll donate again.

by jenniforHILLARY at 5/10/2008 9:31:51 PM

    • Hillary 08.

We want Hillary to stay in this contest and go all the way no matter what obama and his supporters say because the fact is Hillary can still win the nomination because the more people who vote for her in the remaining contests can and will influence those super delegates who are undecided in so doing changing the maths, so let's take it all the way.

by rache at 5/11/2008 9:12:37 AM

    Please Don't Give Up!

As a mostly life long Republican, in Hillary I have found someone who I believe in and trust to help change the direction our country has been heading under current leadership.  Having only contributed to Republican campaigns in the past I just contributed to Hillary's campaign and will do my best to have friends in Michigan do the same.  Michigan supports Hillary and should count!  If Hillary doesn't stay in the game and win - God help our country.  She is the only true leader left in the race - please don't give up Hillary.  You have support here in Michigan and have changed my opinion and many like me who have supported the other side in the past.  Why everyone can't see that you are the smartest candidate and the only one with any kind of detailed plan is so sad.

    Calls to Oregon

I was on the phone about 45 minutes. I did get to talk to one voter whose husband is for Hillary, but she herself is not and leaning toward the other guy. However, after I talked with her for about 15 minutes, she said she will give it further thoughts, so it sounds like she is now undecided.

I had 10 refusals, 1 BO and 5 for Hillary, 2 undecided responses. I don't know whether the refusals are 1)Rep. 2) BO 3)already voted so don't want to talk more about it 4) all above.

Since Oregon voters are in the process of voting, via mailing back the ballots, it is critical time now we talk to them instead of later.

Also, please encourage them strongly to go ahead mail out the ballot say by tomorrow, and don't let it sit, should they expressed that Hillary is their candidate.

If they don't, it will not do any of us any good.

    • What are we expecting to do?

If Hillary does not have the math, as they say, then how is making phone calls etc going to do? As the polls say today, both can beat McCain, but to me that isn't saying much. Have you listened to McCain, he thinks we are better off today than 7 years ago, so I feel anyone can beat him.

    Don't let our guards down

While I believe in the polls results, or want to when the response is very favorable for our Hillary, I still think that we should actively work on campaigning for Hillary in any shape or form possible.

After NC and In, not trying to dampen anyone's spirit, I no longer want to sit back comfortably after hours of phone calls with the states' voters thinking we would be fine since so many voters had said they would vote for Hillary. After NC abd In election results, I become more suspicious and will not let my guards down...

We should pursade voters to go ahead either do Early Vote by tomorrow (deadline for WV) or send in the ballot (like Oregon) by tomorrow (their deadline is receipt by County office by 5/20) or as early as possible.

We need to get in touch with voters!

It is so critical that we get in touch with voters in West Virginia and Oregon.  Hillary needs a big win in West Virginia, and just can't afford a big loss in Oregon.  Making calls it what will be most affective.

It is SOOO easy to do --yesterday I made my first calls and it felt great.

Go to http://tools.hillaryclinton.com/calling/ and log in or register.  It's quick, easy, and simple to start making calls for Hillary.  Even if you have 15 minutes or an hour, we need to make calls.

We need Hillary.  This country needs Hillary.  We can't let her down.

by brettforhillary at 5/10/2008 9:25:47 AM

    Call Oregon and/or WVl

If you have limited time to call, I recommend you call Oregon. There're quite a few undecided or leaning toward BO voters out there. Since the ballots are in the process of mailing in, in a way they are voting between now and May 20. This is the best time to do our best to persuade them to vote for Hillary. Please ask them to mail the ballot  out right away!!

As we all know, we need to have a win in Oregon, or a very close margin in Oregon.

Since I am from Illinois, I have been calling WV (earlier of the day due to EST) and Oregon (during the late evening). Each state I spent about close to 2 hours.

by BelieveinHillary at 5/10/2008 10:59:54 AM

    • Oregon calls

Everyone I called in Oregon was either not voting or for Hillary.  None for Obama, so far.

    Include Florida

We must insist that the DNC include Florida in the final tally.  There is no justification to deny more than a million American citizens and registered Democrats the right to vote in this primary because the Republican-led legislature there moved the primary.  Hillary cannot be denied the nomination simply because of these arbitrary rules.  Such a circumstance would tear the party apart and destroy the party's credibility.  It also would ruin our support in Florida and probably damage our support among those who most support Hillary!  We must contact the DNC and let them know how unfair and disastrous it would be to disenfrachise Florida voters and steal the nomination from the winner of the popular vote, Hillary Clinton.
