My Mom

by Chelsea Clinton
5/9/2008 5:24:28 PM

You and I both know my mom will make a great president. I'm so blessed to have her as the best mom I could imagine -- at 8, 18, and 28. As we approach Mother's Day, I want to share a few memories of my mom with you.

Take a look.

Thank you again for your support of the person I am so proud to call my mom.

Happy Mother's Day!

    • Chelsea you can be our voice some day!!

Thought I know the stakes are too high now for us, I have been following you very closely since California, when you came to California State University, I seen you speak in NC at the democratic convention, I am very impressed by your communication style, you speak non violent communication, very empathetic and very sophisticated. I just want you to know that even if your mother do not become our president, she made a very strong case for you, for the years to come, and I have no doubt in my mind, that your fantastic father will not be the only clinton to be president of the USA.
Happy Mother's Hillary, and we love you for making a case for all of us!

      • SCHEDULED TO MAKE CALLS

I am scheduled to make calls this weekend. I will try to make time for the weekdays. I am a tax attorney, and often work late.

I have given the maximum contribution of $2,300.00. I just got off the NY Time Caucus blog. I will continue to blog for Hillary and call as much as possible. At this point that is all I can do.

We must stand united. We cannot cave. If not Hillary, I will vote for McCain. Hillary was and is the inspiration. Like my mother, the most inspirational woman in my life, Hillary is the most inspirational female politician. Women must be in politics. Women abide by the laws. They must write them and execute them as men do. Hillary can get young people. I am 26. Hillary and only for Hillary.

by HillaryForever at 5/9/2008 11:06:24 PM

      • Hillery in 2008

I am a Hillery supporter and I will stick by her . We all need to also financially support her Champagne to the extent we each can . Sen Clinton is the first and only Politician I have ever  contributed to and I am 65 years old . My only income is my Social Security,I am not one of the rich retirees ,so I can't give a lot . I challenge every Hillery supporter  to give anything you can even if it is just $5.00.
If in the end Hillery should lose the nomination I would also support her if she ran as a Independent  and would urge her to do so . I think as a independent Hillery could win .

You have a beautiful relationship with your Mother!
I admire how you have grown-up and wish every child could be so blessed!

You give your Mother the greatest Mother's Day present everyday of your life!  And you are blessed to have a Mother so devoted to you.

I know that you have been a strength for your Mom over this campaign...and I would bet she has been there for you!

    • I so Agree

Chelsea,  You sound like the kind of daughter every mom wants.  Thanks for standing toe to toe with "the big boys" and being there for your mom.  The kid of support you give is outstanding, remarkable, admirable.  I hope more young people take a cue from your example and mirror the character that you have which was obviously shaped to some degree by your wonderfully strong yet sensitive mother.  Way to go Chelsea and Hillary !

    • Contributions

It would help to say if contributions are coming in.  with all the negative press in the media, I'm glad to have this forum to get some positive info and support.   I just hate the way all the TV hosts seem to gang up on Hillary.  And some of the stars.  Even the local TV news seems to only state the negative.  I can't think of anyone in the media that is supportive of Hillary.  Can anyone name any?

    • I wish

I've a wish to see Hillary as first and Chelsea as second woman President of America.

      Chelsea
I saw you campaigning for your mom and really I got extremely impressed by the way you were taking Questions of all sorts and then answering them with extreme wisdom, that shows your intellect and by all means I am convinced you're the reflection of Hillary Clinton President 08...

      Chelsea Clinton President 2020.

    Happy Mother's Day, Hillary

    May 9, 2008

    Dearest Hillary,
So wonderful that your lovely daughter, Chelsea, created this opportunity for me to honor you.

As this campaign arrived in Pennsylvania, I was touched by your courage.  I looked deep inside for mine and knew mine could grow.

When you won Pennsylvania, I was touched by your grace and optimism and energy.  I looked deeper inside myself and challenged myself to increase those qualities in me.

When your campaign slammed into a wall on May 6th in North Carolina, I witnessed your resolve, your resilience, and your Technicolor vision of yourself as our President.  That is the same vision I see.  I looked inside and sighed because I have a lot of growth to do to more fully develop those qualities.

We women are internalizing the image of the woman you are as you create with every breath you take a new paradigm for female confidence and leadership and ownership.  Women are in awe of your strength and your will.  Men are in awe of your strength and tenacity and your brilliance.

You are creating an extraordinary new "life," which did not exist before these moments in time that we are sharing.  I know this is your destiny.  You are the Mother of our possibility.  You see far beyond the labor pains of our ripping out of the old models and into a new expression of female.

You are already creating a new and real Female Archetype.  I feel it taking hold in the collective consciousness of males and females in all of our diversity.  This country is ready for the shift to the deeply feminine style of leadership of inclusiveness, protection of safety and quality of life, and compassion.

Thank you for giving birth to a new experience of a fully realized female in the role of most powerful leader.  I am indelibly encouraged by you.  The imprint has been made inside all of us.  You are already a great success.

    Rise, Hillary, Rise.

    Happy Mother's Day.

    With Love,

    • Yes

This is so true. So many of us, including myself, have been given a reason to breathe deeply and look inside for courage in the face of whatever our challenges may be. For me, a professor but always a shy child inside, well I have FINALLY found my voice by asking daily, in many situations "what would Hillary do here", "would she allow her fears to get in the way of what is right?". I am not exaggerating about the amazing role you (someone I have only met once at a book signing in Denver) have played in my life; what a difference you have already made. So many opportunities ahead to forge a new way of being for so many people....I look forward to the days ahead and all the changes you will  bring.

    • Happy Mothers Day to HILLIARY Clinton

KT in NC wrote some beautiful words.

I want to express my Thank You to you and say I hope you and your family have a fantastic day.

You have worked hard and I know you will continue to work for what this country needs to move forward.

Follow through as I would with the challenges we  face everyday.  Your challenges are much greater than ours. I wish I could help with the hard work you have done and will contine to do in the next few months.

Your Heart is filled with Love and Care. Your experience is needed here in the United States to face the challenges this country will need as our NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

      Take Care,

      Here in Virginia

by ERLINDA at 5/10/2008 7:13:42 AM

    • wow, amen to that

...could not agree more.  I didn't even realize what I had been missing in terms of role models till Hillary cam along.  I never felt sexism till I started my career in my late 20s, and it's more a lack of role models than it is true sexism.  That's why I want HRC to stay on the national stage however that happens...it doesn't have to be president (this time!) but I want her voice out there for me to look to.

      by kiwi18 at 5/10/2008 7:38:53 AM

    • Beautiful

Thank you KT for those beautiful words.

Hillary Clinton is an amazing person, full of real hope and visions for the country and for the world. I pray every day that she becomes our President so that we can again hold our heads up high and proud.

What I want for Mother's Day and for all women all over the world- is to be able to see you become President and to be able to utter the words: Madame President.

Happy Mother's day to you Hillary Clinton.

In honor of this day I am donating $10.00 to your campaign in memory of my mother who I know would be behind you.

America apparently does not see what us, the Hillary supporters see when we watch you standing with such pride and compassion in your heart for this country and for the people like me, a recently unemployed person who was living paycheck to paycheck.  They don't see that the words you speak are not, "just words", but words with compassion behind them.  You are one of the most intelligent women I know and I shall always be a Hillary Clinton supporter and fan.  I have not given up on you, I am still in that line pushing you up the hill because I know in my heart you are the right person to hold this position, to become the mother to all in this country.

Have a wonderful day spending it with your daughter at your event in New York.

      • Don't Quit

I admire Hillary's  "stick-to-it- quality and would like to share something that has been my inspiration for many years.  I did not write this and as far as I know the author is unknown, but it reminds me of Hillary and would like her to know so here goes:
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, When the road you're trudging seems all uphill, When the funds are low, and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When care is pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don't you quit! Life is strange with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many  a failure turns about, When he might have won had he stuck it out, Don't give up though the pace seems slow, You may succeed with another blow.  Success is failure turned inside out, The silver tint of the clouds of doubt, And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far; So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit, It's when things seem worse, that you must not quit. HILLARY - PLEASE DON'T QUIT WE NEED YOU AND I PRAY THAT THE VOTER'S WILL OPEN THEIR EARS AND EYES

by marjen at 5/9/2008 10:21:14 PM

      • Independent

We have a large group of Hillary supporters that are so unhappy with the DNC and Party elders that we are changing our voter registration to Independent we can't support a Party that doesn’t count the votes of millions of Americans.

by Cbruso at 5/9/2008 11:21:13 PM

      • No way

An independent Hillary run would ensure that McCain wins the White House.  It's that simple.

    • Happy Mother's Day Hillary Rodham Clinton

May the good God shower you with His richest blessings, and give you the strength to carry on, especially when things are rough and the going gets tough. May he be your guiding light and grant you a long and healthy life. May he fill your cup to over  flowing with his love and peace. May he give you victory. May you triumphant and defeat all your enemies. May you be aware that God is surrounding you with his very special love and support. May you be our next president. This is my heart-felt prayer for you.

      • Don't give up

I listen to the news and wonder why nothing resembles what I was taught in school. I thought the whole purpose of the convention was to select the nominee, with the delegates from each state representing the votes of that state, yet daily I hear that a nominee must be in place before then.

All my life I've been told that my vote matters, but if the news stations have it right, it doesn't matter. Votes didn't win the election for Bush either time, and in this primary it seems only the delegate votes count - and thay're for sale.
If a delegate represents the state wishes, how can he change his choice before the election? When a delegate switches his vote stating that he doesn't think his 1st choice can win, does that mean that it's more important to go with a winner than vote with conviction for the person he really thinks is best suited for the job?

Hillary you're a stong, intelligent, and couragous  woman. Please stay in there until the convention. Make the democratic process work and win. Don't leave the party - fix the party.

It floors me that the party could say 2 states votes don't count. It seems to me that it violates the very priniples of democracy. Doesn't the right to vote and have your vote count trump the rules of a political party? Keep fighting for those 2 states rights.

What a lovely tribute to Mom

Chelsea, you are a sweet daughter that understands the gifts that life has dealt you.

Everyone, I ask you to do four things:

    1.  Use Chelsea's page to send HIllary a note.
    2.  Donate what you can afford this weekend.
    3.  Do what you can (call, volunteer, blog) to bring home victories in WV, KY, and OR.  The key is to get people to the polls by renforcing that their vote DOES count.  In OR, ensure that they mail in their ballots.
    4.  Buy an extra Mother's Day, Thank You, or Good Luck card and send it via snail mail to Hillary's DC office:
    Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton
    United States Senate
    476 Russell Senate Office Building
    Washington, DC 20510

    Thank you dear friends.

This is what I told the DNC and told them not to bother me again.  My hard earned money only goes to Hillary.  If you give money to the DNC, they will use it to get Obama elected if he is the nominee.  No Obama for me....NEVER, EVER.  I will make sure McCain wins so Hillary can run in 2012 because Obama will be toast after November 2008.

by angga at 5/9/2008 10:26:02 PM

        • told them the same thing

i actually got a kick out of seeing mccain go against obama.  that is how i know for sure i will be voting for mccain if hillary is not the nominee.

these media pundits not only want to declare the winner, they think they know my mind better than i do.

        • gave my notice to the DNC

This voter just gave notice to the DNC leadership today.  No money and no votes of mine will ever go to the party who does not honor the votes of the people.

          GOD BLESS AMERICA!

I called w/ the same message, the woman who took my call said she was being bombarded with similar calls.

    Heartwarming!

Thank you for sharing your sweet spirit and your belief in your mom. As a mom of a 23 year old girl and a 7 year old boy, I know  how proud your mother is of you. I will contribute to this amazing woman's campaign once again, and am asking my family for the same thing I received for my birthday on March 20, that my husband (and children) contribute to this campaign in lieu of a gift. My children, my husband and myself believe Hillary is going to be our first female president-we are counting on it.

    Hillary, Happy Mother's Day!

Hillary, know that you are loved.

At Cal State LA on Feb. 2, 2008 as you kindly posed for a picture with my daughter, Julie (7) and myself, your wonderful assistant took a priceless photo of us!  I made an 8X10 for my daughter's bedroom and one for my office.  I get to enjoy your beautiful face every day with pride.  You have the most beautiful eyes and you have a white aura around your head and shoulders.  I turned to my husband (he looks like your husband) and he said "she is just stunning".  My daughter will be telling this story for the rest of her life "Hillary picked me up and kissed the top of my head and then I said to her - you are the best president we have ever had - and she said - I hope so". My daughter said that you smelled like "pink daffodils".
Thank you for giving us this moment.

Thank you for your dedication to all of us.

    P.S.
We've held two events for you here in Studio City, California and posted the videos on YouTube:

    Hillary Clinton, We Love You!!

Chelsea Clinton, Thank You so much for giving each and every one of us an opportunity to wish your Mom the BEST MOTHER'S DAY EVER!! I signed the card earlier, and plan to send another, plus a contribution in my Mom's name.  You see, my Mom raised eight children, I am the oldest.  My Dad died in 1970; so imagine what she has gone through all these years, raising each and everyone of us!! Wow, what a woman, my Mom.  You see, she is Welsh too!!  I "see" that same fighting spirit in your Mom.  Yes, I am wishing your Mom the Best Mother's Day; and praying, and supporting her to LEAD OUR NATION TO WHERE IT ONCE WAS, ONLY YOUR MOM CAN TAKE OUR COUNTRY BACK TO THE TOP OF THAT MOUNTAIN, like "Jewell" said, "Polished like Gold" just like your Mom has gone to the Top of the Mountain, Polished like Gold.  I am sending my best wishes to Hillary Clinton and her wonderful family.  My support and best wishes are with you.

    • media is negative

the media is real negative toward Hillary that is why I like her...when the media can't say anything good about someone you have done your job...she has been through the fire of the pundits and came out on top and Hillary did not even smell like smoke....this is the same thing that the pundits did to Al Gore...and you see what we got 4 years of a republican in office...

      Hillary in 08 or nothing!!!!

by Byon Holmes at 5/9/2008 11:24:57 PM

    • Yes, and let's talk about what happened there...

Hillary Clinton was deprived of saying she had won Indiana because Lake County Indiana ( a county known for voter fraud) held back the voting numbers for several hours. IT WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF LINE!!

Even the commentators on Fox News said they found it very suspicious. So because she did not get to make a prime time victory speech, it messed with people rushing to make donations for her.

The good news is that this Tuesday she will win WV by a landslide, and the money will come rolling in!! Plus, I am quite sure she has been making money all week since she got the offical announcement of the win in Indiana.
Hillary Clinton, May God bless you and all of us by letting you go all the way to the White House.

WE LOVE AND RESPECT YOU SO MUCH!!

    Stay on course

To be honest, it is the Hillary Clinton campaign that I care about. I don't care if the news announced that Obama has 1,000,000 delegates. All we need to do is focus on that which can be done!!

I will be donating $50 to Hillary in honor of Mother's Day. She brings out the best in all of us.
I can see that she is rightfully as proud of Chelsea as I am of my daughters & granddaughters.

    Thank you Chelsea!!!

by DGS at 5/9/2008 6:16:37 PM

    • You might be right DGS but we need to stay on top of the game!

The only problem is that we need to keep track of how the other camp is doing just because we are not competing by ourselves, we need to be competitive and still stay on top of the game. That s what every winning team does; from soccer to basketball to any other competition. our strategies is somewhat dependant of their's and their's dependant on us. OB is now campaigning in Oregon, why because he know we are doing great in West virginia and up.

we need to do what we can to keep the superdegegates from leaving to their camp, they got 10 today, 1 was for Hillary. we cannot afford to lose any more super. I have been writting to them since this morning! we can still do very well!

Happy mothers day to all mothers out there!you guys rock!!

It is time for all of those "men" to understand that the absolute best candidate for president is a woman.

    My email to DNC

I received a letter requesting money today and this is the email I sent back to them.

I think that "No letting up" describes many democrats feelings about the MI and FL votes.  I cannot believe that the DNC and the Media think that we the people will sit by and ignore that these Americans voted.  I will not contribute until the delegates are seated and the votes are counted.  Obama declaring himself the winner of a 48 state victory does not sit well with me or other Americans.  Count MI and FL or let them revote.  I will not now or in November support Obama.  He is not the candidate of Americas choice for the Democratic party.  The treats by the African Americans to riot if the nomination does not go to Obama does not sit well with most Democrats.  What will the DNC do if the white voters of America riot?  If the nomination is given to Obama on a 48 state vote, I, as many Democrats will change my party and vote for McCain in the General election.  I will not have ANYONE forced on me by Peloski, Dean, Kerry, Kennedy or the Media.

Thank you and may your money coffers remain dry until you recognize all American votes.

    Mother's Day

I am convinced my mother's spirit (a die hard democrate her entire life) has taken over me for this campaign. Never have I worked so hard or cared so much in a campaign before. So this mother's day I will do what I can to help get Hillary where she belongs! The White House!

God bless you, Chelsea, and God bless your mother.

I know that Hillary Clinton is the best candidate remaining for President.

I also knew she has a very nice daughter, but it was nice to be reminded.

What a loving, caring tribute this was, a truly inspirational Mother's Day present.

Let's keep on fighting the good fight, people; don't let anyone force us -- or Mrs. Clinton -- from the field.

Just donated another $100.00   I believe!  Democratic nominee or Independent makes no matter to me!  Only you will have my vote as I truly believe you are the person for this time to fix America from Bush and his group.  No one else has been called!

Please at least place your name on the ballot in all fifty states so we can do a write in vote if nothing else.  You have millions who are committed to writing only your name in anyway.

    Happy Mothers Day Mom[Hillary]

    Dear HILLARY FAMILY,
I am so moved by the warmth and kindness that we find everyday in these posts. It shows our true heart felt feelings we have for Hillary and her entire family. Hillary will be our nominee in the end and we will all benefit from her knowledge and wisdom. This weekend will be another major turning point for us. We have with in our grasps a 45% win in WV. Just think if we got a million people out to vote we would gain 450,000 popular votes. It can be done. We can do it. So I challenge ALL of TEAM HILLARY to, for the next three days forget about polls, forget about the pundits, forget about superdelegates, forget about eveything except getting people in WV to go out and vote. Let's look at this as if we were tied and we were scraping up every vote we could. Now pick up the phones, get on the street corners and into the neighborhoods. Lets go get EM.

by Gay Guy at 5/9/2008 6:50:24 PM

$2300 Limit Reached? You Can Still Help!

You can still help the campaign. Go to http://www.hillarygear.com/ and order signs, buttons, bumper stickers, and other campaign stuff in bulk and have it shipped to the campaign offices in the up coming states!  This will help keep Hillary's visibility up in these states, and let people know that her campaign is still alive and kicking, unlike what the media would have us all believe.

Go to http://www.hillarygear.com/ and order those signs and other campaign stuff now. It is not too late! Then have them ship them off to the campaign offices in the up coming states! I did this before NC. And it does not count toward your $2300 contribution limit!!

We need to forcus on being positive!

Hey everyone!  Huffington Post just put this article out.  Lets not do anything to hurt Hillary, but to help her.  That means we need to send positive letters, lifting Hillary up.  We need to donate what we can.  We need to call the remaining states and be kind and polite!  I know we can do this.  Lets not give them any more reason to bring us down!

    • OH COME ON NOW.

Who is doing this??   Sending angry mail to the SD's is not helpful. Lord have Mercy!!!

Go after the DNC to force a re-vote in Florida and Michigan. Be productive.

I do have to say, consider the source and the spin put on this. The Huffington Post is an Obama read. They don't support Hillary.

    • Whos to say it's not Obama Folks

That's my theory. These are emails coming from Obama folks who are setting us up. And that line "not one email from an Obama Supporter saying they would vote for McCain"?. Come on. Those emails are not our TEAM HILLARY'S way. We are compassionate but we are not mean.

Thank you Gay Guy! I was just thinking the same thing. I know at tm.com website many bloggers began email SD's but I doubt highly they would be rude. They blame taylor marsh who was not involved in any way.

I think the BO camp is sending these rude messages saying they are from our hillfamily...How dare they!! They do not represent us.

        Happy Mother's Day Hillary!!

      • Your Right-

Something is going on. Obama's Trolls are also coming into the blog--you can tell who they are by what they state and ask.
So Hill family be careful and don't let them distract you.
We have a Primary on Tuesday!
I made only 10 calls to voters today because I was working-- but over the next three days I will devote lots of time- Saturday and Sunday like it's a job!
Here is what I found today:

        6 voicemails

2 Definite for Hillary households. One said if he voted,it would be for Hillary. So I convinced him that he had to go. We talked for awhile--the whole FL and MI thing he wanted explained- and it made him angry and motivated to go vote for Hillary. He said he doesn't like the way they are trying to bully her out of the race.

The calls are effective. The people from West Virginia are very nice. We have to really work to pull those voters into the polls!
        Have a great evening!
        Rise Hillary Rise!
To the top of the Mountain Like Polished Gold
